About Our Presenter:

A 22-year veteran of AT&T, Scott T. VanderSanden was appointed to the Wisconsin president’s position in November 2006.

As state president, he worked closely with the Wisconsin State Legislature on Act 42, the Video Competition bill, which accelerated AT&T’s successful entry into the Wisconsin video market.  AT&T’s innovative U-verse product – which offers consumers a true triple play of voice, video and Internet – is now available in more than 140 community segments in four metropolitan areas in the state.  AT&T has   added hundreds of jobs in Wisconsin related to U-verse.

In 2011, VanderSanden led AT&T’s efforts to support the Telecommunications Modernization Act of 2011, the first major revision of the statutes regulating telecommunications since 1994.  With this legislation the Wisconsin Legislature further modernized the industry in an effort to adapt to the realities of today’s commerce.

Under VanderSanden’s leadership, AT&T continues to expand its wireless network within Wisconsin.  During the past few years, AT&T has added tens of dozens of new cell sites and expanded its 3G footprint in new cities across the state and is actively working to expand to 4G in the near future..

VanderSanden is a member of the board of directors for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Association of Commerce and is President of Competitive Wisconsin.  He also serves as a member of the UW-Eau Claire Chancellor’s Council, which provides strategic leadership counsel to Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich.  Finally, he is a member of the UW Madison School of Business – Dean’s Advisory Board.

VanderSanden, 47, holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

VanderSanden and Susan Serrault are raising three young adults – Erik, Dustin (“Dusty”) and Melissa – in Oregon, Wisconsin. He enjoys competitive athletics and has been active in many sports, including baseball, volleyball, golf, hockey and bicycle racing.
