November's breakfast will feature Wisconsin Secretary of Commerce, Paul Jadin
On December 30, 2010, Governor Scott Walker appointed Paul Jadin Secretary of the Department of Commerce.
From April 2003 until his appointment, Paul Jadin was president and CEO of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, which has 1,400 members employing 93,000 workers. He directly oversaw economic development, government affairs, member services, and education function. In partnership with Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, he led the development and growth of a 50,000-sq.-ft. business incubator.
Jadin earned a B.A. in Political Science from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, and an MS in Public Administration from Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL. He and his wife Jane have four children.
The Department of Commerce has approximately 350 employees. It provides development assistance in areas such as marketing, business and community finance, exporting, small business advocacy, and manufacturing assessments. The agency issues professional credentials for the construction trades and administers safety and building codes. It also regulates petroleum products and tank systems and administers the Petroleum Environmental Clean-up Fund.
