President, Ellison Technologies - Midwest Region

  W. Kent Lorenz is the Midwest Regional President of Ellison Technologies.  Ellison is a provider of advanced machining and robotic automation systems to North American metal-cutting manufacturers and their global affiliates.  Ellison’s annual sales are over $450 million with over 500 employees.  Kent also serves on Ellison’s Executive Board with additional direct responsibilities for Strategic Planning, Marketing, and Information Technology. 

A graduate from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in Engineering in 1984, Kent joined Ellison Machinery as a Sales Engineer in the Milwaukee Office in 1985.  After serving 8 years as the president of the Milwaukee operation, Kent took over as President of the Midwestern Group of Ellison Technologies Companies in 2006.

Kent is past Chairman of the American Machine Tool Distributors’ Association (AMTDA).  He is also an Owner/Partner of DKR Investors LLC, a commercial real estate investment company.  He has been an active member of the Milwaukee Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) since 2000.  Kent also serves on the Board of Directors for First Business Bank – Milwaukee.  As part of his board duties, he also serves on the Director’s Loan Committee.

In the local community, Kent serves on the Advisory Board for Pewaukee High School’s “Project Lead the Way” program and Co-Chairs the Manufacturing Steering Committee for the Waukesha County Business Alliance.  He is a member of the Wales Jerusalem Presbyterian Church where he serves as an Elder in the church.

Kent and his wife Abby reside in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and have two children in college, Tyler and Kelsey at UW Madison and UW Lacrosse repsectively.
